Think about how much information you absorb in a day – with instant access to news, ads on your phone, tweets and retweets, and water cooler gossip. Now consider how much of this really matters to whether or not you reach your long-term goals.
Much of what you read and hear triggers emotions that can lead to hasty decisions about your money. Admittedly, it's hard to ignore the hype. I'm here to help take the emotion out of your financial decisions and guide you down a path that puts you and your family first, not the headlines and the hot trends.
Sure, sometimes what's going on around you may trigger adjustments in your financial choices – perhaps a rebalancing of your investments or a withdrawal from your emergency fund – but it doesn't need to invite panic. And that's the point. Your financial strategy should be built around you and what you want out of life. It should help you be prepared for life's surprises like market declines or pandemics. And it should be an obvious path toward being financially prepared for the life you choose, whether that's a debt-free education for your kids or a second home on the lake or an early retirement.
I'm happy to work with your other professionals – CPAs, lawyers, mortgage brokers. If you don't have the resources you need, I can recommend professionals who I trust and respect.
I like working with people who are goal-oriented and interested in financially sound advice. I value the relationships I'm able to build with my clients, and the mutual trust that grows between us.
My life is split between Calgary and Winnipeg, and it's important to give back. I'm a member of Rotary, a director of the United Way committee, a local Jr. Hockey Club board and I volunteer whenever and wherever I can, with organizations like Diabetes Canada.Outside of work, I spend quality time with my wife watching movies, pIaying cards and travelling the world when we can. I also love to play guitar and sing.
