Tom Kersting is a principal in the Investment Advisory department. Since 2016, he has led the day-to-day management and strategic direction of the firm’s Advisory Solutions program, which offers individual investors a comprehensive approach to investment management within one account, and the Edward Jones Guided SolutionsTM program, which helps individual investors build and maintain portfolios aligned with Edward Jones Investment Policy Committee guidance.
Tom began his Edward Jones career in 1997 as a member of the Research department. In 2000, he became an equity analyst and followed financial services stocks. He continued in that role for nine years before being asked to establish a fixed-income research area, which he led for six years before assuming his current responsibilities. Tom has been cited in numerous publications including The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, The New York Times, BusinessWeek, Forbes, USA Today, Bloomberg and The Washington Post. In addition, he has appeared on CNBC and PBS’ Nightly Business Report.
Since 2011, Tom has served on the Edward Jones Investment Policy Committee, which develops advice and guidance based on the firm’s investment philosophy to support the efforts of branch teams to help individual investors meet their long-term goals. He was named an Edward Jones principal in 2014.
Tom is a graduate of Truman State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. He is a CFA® charter-holder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of St. Louis.
