Financial Advice for the Self Employed

About me:

I began my career in Financial Services in 1995. Throughout my nearly 30 years in finances, I have worked mostly with self employed business owners and medical professionals, acquiring plenty of experience learning about the complexities they face which others do not. Through client feedback, I am told they appreciate most about me is my ability to understand their personal circumstances and to provide solutions that make sense in a timely manner.

I have spent most of my career working for two of the big five banks in Canada, as an Account Manager for Medical Professionals, then a Small Business Advisor to self-employed individuals growing their businesses, and then in Private Wealth helping successful individuals protect, and preserve their wealth. I now work exclusively with professionals and business owners that are looking for someone that can save them time and money while maximizing opportunities and protecting what they’ve accumulated.

Edward Jones allows me the flexibility to serve my client's by offering customized solutions and strategies which provides my clients a different experience than they would otherwise receive from their bank-based advisors. I’m not intending to pick on bank-based advisors, as I used to be one. However, I know firsthand the limits on their resources, and sales pressure they have to deal with that I do not.

My clients are serious about reaching their goals, and I am serious about helping them.

I’m also serious about traveling, and life experiences which includes designing a lifestyle, so you and I don’t have to wait until retirement to live. My wife and I have two kids in post-secondary school living away from home these days, and they too are becoming avid travelers of their own, spending money on experiences, rather than only on things.

Outside of travel and family, my childhood nickname, Alex P. Keaten is still relative today as it was when I was 10. I am a student of all things personal finance, analyzing the mistakes I've seen people make over and over again, to the successes I’ve witnessed as well. I have learned that processes win the race.
