We live in a world of immediate gratification and short-term solutions. In my work, I help people remember the value of thinking more long-term. We begin by talking about goals and usually discover once we dive in that many of them - education costs, a new home, a comfortable retirement - are down the road. That means now is the time to plan for them financially.
After gaining a thorough understanding of the things that are most important to you, I'll explore the world of investment options and other solutions to build a financial strategy to encompass the entire picture. I'll make sure you're appropriately diversified so you'll be in the best situation to navigate unexpected market swings. I'll explore tax-advantaged investments. I'll consider options to prepare for unexpected life events. My approach is organized, detailed and honest. And my goal is to help you reach yours.
Having a personalized, written financial direction puts you in the driver's seat. Then regardless of what the media says or what investments your coworkers suggest, you can make informed decisions that work best for you. No matter what hot stock and unique estate planning questions you might have, we can evaluate it together to see if it fits with your risk tolerance and your long-term vision.
I was fortunate that my parents were good role models about money. Growing up in China, I learned good habits for saving and self-discipline about spending. At age 18, I came to Canada and studied advanced economy and finance in university. Now with a two-year-old son, I better understand the family responsibilities as a father. My unique background makes me able to serve clients who are immigrants from a variety of cultures and countries themselves and to build personal solutions that support the needs of entire families from generation to generation.
In my free time, I enjoy family-type activities - reading, fishing and watching movies.
