Finding success means first defining success, and that is unique to every client.
In my work, I help clients identify the things they value most – their definition of success – and build a personalized financial strategy to help them get there. That way, they are empowered to think independently and make decisions based on their own path forward rather than react to the latest stock trend or well-intentioned recommendations of friends. In essence, I help clients feel in control of their own situations and confident in their financial decisions.
As I work one-on-one with clients, I promise to never gamble with their money but instead create a portfolio that fits comfortably with their hopes, risk tolerance, challenges and reality. I believe financial literacy is imperative to everyone's success, so I educate clients about the recommendations I make and how they are designed to help them reach their goals.
I have a personal passion for helping families with disabilities or special needs. Our government program for these families is generous – but complicated – and I help clients navigate through as part of their overall path forward. When opportunities on this topic arise in the community, I am the first to raise my hand to provide education and presentations for both families and professionals.
My background prepared me well to be a financial advisor. In my first career, I was an engineer, and I still use those skills of planning and discipline every day. I have an MBA in finance and worked for five years in a bank before opening my branch with Edward Jones in 2001. Branch Office Administrator Judy Liang has worked side-by-side with me since that time, and we are both adamant about delivering quality service and a warm, welcoming office environment.
My wife and I have two sons, both young adults. We're all triathletes and practice together. While my sons can do triathlons alone, my wife and I share the journey – she swims and I do the bike and relay legs.
