At some point in life, we realize that the things our parents tried to tell us are true – money really doesn't grow on trees, we do feel better when we clean our room and patience is indeed a virtue. Here's another one for you – your retirement will be here before you know it.
Even though it's 10 or 20 years away, putting in the effort now can make a big difference down the road in helping you live retirement on your terms and with financial independence. Saving for retirement is not a standalone activity. At the same time, you have your day-to-day expenses and other goals you may be working toward, like affording your kids' education or a new home. When we work together, we'll look at the whole picture to fit all the pieces into the same puzzle – and the same budget.
For each of us, money represents more than its face value. An inheritance is a loved one's legacy, for example, and paying for a dream vacation, while exciting, may cause angst. These are the things I want to understand – your emotions around money, the things you value most and how you envision your future – before we ever talk about investments. That way I'll be able to tailor a financial strategy that makes you feel in control and secure.
With my 15 years of financial services experience, my practice is well suited for busy families, from those just starting out, to those with substantial accounts and complex needs, to business owners.
As for me, there are three things I value most – my family life with two active teenage girls, this community where I've lived for the past 20 years and my clients who I get to know and enjoy individually, and in whose lives I can make a difference.
Sometimes, we don't know what we want until we see it. Let's see if my work and my approach can help make a positive difference in your life. I look forward to hearing from you.
