I had a rather remarkable childhood. My family owned and operated African Lion Safari in Cambridge, the animal rescue and conservation park my grandfather founded. Growing up, Thanksgiving often included some rather unusual guests, including lion and cheetah cubs!
My parents sold their shares in the Safari when I was 10, and for the first time in their lives, they had money to invest. Although they chose a reputable firm to invest with, they received a poor return on their investment and even shoddier client service. This motivates me to ensure my clients don't have the same experience.
In 1999, my father retired but discovered he wasn't ready to stop working, so he became an Edward Jones financial advisor. Ten years later, I followed his example. Five years later, my brother became the third Edward Jones advisor in the family.
Today I live in Guelph with my partner, Warren. We play in a weekly trivia league and enjoy traveling. In addition to visiting his parents in Florida each winter (they're "snowbirds"), volunteer work has enabled me to visit Mexico and Cambodia. I traveled to Mexico as a volunteer with Givesome, a nonprofit that encourages charitable giving, and to Cambodia with Luck Iron Fish, which battles anemia. I have now set my sites on volunteering with a local nonprofit that empowers women.
While my background enables me to easily relate to business owners, I enjoy working with anyone with a clear vision of what they want to achieve financially. Once you have identified that vision, I can develop an investment strategy tailored to your specific needs and goals and help ensure you remain on track to achieve those goals.
Helping me with this endeavour is Sandra Lameira. Our clients have wonderful things to say about her, and you'll find her knowledgeable and caring.
