I opened my practice in 2008 during "the Great Recession." While no one would plan that timing, I'm grateful in hindsight. I saw firsthand the value of accurate risk tolerance, diversifying and personal relationships.

On a personal note, my wife of 20 years and I have three teenagers who have been in competitive sports at some of the highest levels and currently focus on their studies while holding part-time jobs. Interestingly, I see them learning how to balance their goals just as I help my clients balance theirs.
