I find meaning in my work through the relationships I've built with clients and the role I take in helping them create and enjoy success. My experience in academia and research has given me an appreciation for making the complex simple and I strive to give simple, actionable advice that will meaningfully improve a client's financial well-being.

At my practice, located in the south-end of Halifax, we specialize in helping two types of clients: pre-retirees, typically with limited investment experience who are seeking to create financial security and tax-efficiency in retirement, and high-income professionals who are balancing multiple goals. In both cases, we follow a proactive and collaborative approach to planning, investment management and risk mitigation. We work with clients in Halifax, across Nova Scotia and throughout Canada, happily meeting on their terms: in the office, around the kitchen table, at their business, or on their computer screen.

We follow a tailored and goal-oriented approach to portfolio construction with priority given to fee transparency and cost-efficiency. Our portfolios are structured around clients' unique personal and tax situations and rely on individual securities – stocks, bonds, GICs – and insurance contracts. Our conservative investment philosophy emphasizes discipline and structure, incorporating guiderails from our skilled Investment Policy Committee and focuses on capital preservation, income generation and steady long-term results, ensuring lasting peace of mind.

I am a CFA® Charterholder and abide by the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct which, along with other ethical obligations, require me to place clients' interests ahead of my own. I also have a Masters degree in Mathematics from Concordia University in Montreal, where I studied chaotic dynamical systems.

I grew up in Nova Scotia and am passionate about the community. I look forward to working and serving here for decades to come. Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Haleigh, and son, Malcolm, in the pool or on trails or around Halifax. My hobbies include: golf, running, travelling and reading.
